Do good things for others help the poor feed the hungry donate to animal shelters pray for others. Seek God he is the author of all positive things. after doing that you will feel like a positive live-wire smiling from ear to ear with joy in your heart.

I think you have received some pretty good answers. ( Except for the "be happy" one. It's hard to "be happy" when you aren't. I always thought those smiley faces with the command "be happy" were so ridiculous. But, I guess that's negative of me to say that.) So, like the others suggested...TRY to not go down the negative paths. Try to think of a good thing about each situation. Tell yourself you're just not going to go down that dark path. I've heard that if you keep thinking about the good things that you have and don't dwell on the bad that eventually you can re-train those brain waves to think positively. I don't know if that's true or not. I've just read that. I think it's a very positive thing that you want to be more positive, don't you?

Maybe your not happy w/ your surroundings, maybe you need to go explore and see how good you might really have it. Or on the other hand maybe you need more excitement in your life. For me I stay active and surround myself with positive fun people. Oh and try to smile more that might help, but don't be negative that usually makes matters worse!!!

Just always look on the bright side of things no matter what. For example, if you were to trip and fall, you could say "at least I didn't break a bone." It takes practice, but you will be a lot happier once you get the hang of it :)

Pretending is the best way. Say I AM happy, or I AM wonderful, just tell yourself until things begin to turn around, and they will.
