Ok well first off washing your hair once a week is probably the problem! You really need to ask your mom why? If it is money problems then go to a indoor pool and take a shower there! You don't have to swim you can just go in the showers for free!! But i suggest you ask your mom why if there isn't a pool nearby then rinse your hair in the sink?

I'd say do what is called a scalp treatment. Which is rubbing your scalp with a comb in half inch parts. But do this before youre going to wash it. When done combing, brush your hair with a brstle brust ya know the ones with a lot of bristles not a regular comb. it will brush all the oils down the hair strands.

well, it will be a problem if you dont wash your hair or shampoo it regularly, thats why you get dandruf, and it will really irritating when you have that..

well oil your hair before going to bath and use shampoo after wards, or you can buy some shampoo products that help your dandruff, but the problems you need to use it regularly..

Maybe your mom she had a reason, but I think your old enough to know why. It wont hurt if she will tell you right?

I had the same problem for a while. But now the problem seems to have disapeared after I started using shampoo instead of soap on my hair, just after a good wash with Sulsan Blue(Anti Dandruf shampoo)for almost 3 weeks.Try it and good luck!

my father use to tell me the same thing. He always said if you wash your hair too much you dry all the oil up and dry out your scalp causing dandruff. I always washed mine about three times a week. He also told us to rinse it in vinegar to get all shampoo out and make your hair shine.

you know, you've probably got dandruff because you're not using shampoo enough.
its just not good to wash your hair just one time a week. anyway, you could also wash your hair in the morning, because washing your hair at night also causes dandruff.
tell your mom to take a chill pill

if you don't wash your hair frequently the dead skin builds up and well, dandruff. Get a soft bristle brush and brush your every day from the scalp - that should help remove the flakes

A couple of small drops of glycerin in your normal shampoo should do the trick but be carefull as too much can leave hair looking very greasy!!
good luck.

Rub your scalp with a comb really closely, and often. It's painstaking but it'll schluff off eventually. That's what my mom did for my sister when she had really bad dandruff and it all went away.
