If you add a little bit of brown sugar to your chili, it will help. The brown sugar gives it just the right amount of sweetness, but you still have the spicy. Give it a try!

Put some potatoes in it. After about an hour , pull the potatoes out, and it won't be so spicy. This also works if you accidentally put in too much salt.

Add 1 cup or two of milk. It will make it creamier and cool down the spice. Also, top it off with grated cheese in your bowl...just a sprinkle over each bowl like cheddar cheese that is grated.

Add a little bit of sugar. That will counteract the acid and make it less spicy.

(3rd time i've answered this question, does not one know this??) Mexican cookbooks say to use lime juice (lemon's ok but lime is more effective and leaves a nice unique lime taste that people will think ou did on purpose) Lime juice neutralizes the heat without changing the rest of the sauce.

Add some rice to absorb some of the flavor, and maybe a little sugar.

Milk and ketchup work. use just a little at first. Put too much in and you risk ruining it.
