It is a common misconception that oatmeal really helps to clear skin. Kind of a funny one at that. Can you just picture someone with their face covered in oatmeal? It might help to maintain healthy skin, but it will definitely not clear up your acne. A better solution I found can be found on my blog. You might want to check it out.

Natural oatmeal is helpful for home solutions to treat acne. It is in fact wonderful for all skin irritations. Simply apply lukewarm or slightly cool cooked oatmeal to your face for 12 minutes and then wash it off completely. Natural oatmeal is an acne solution and also an astringent because it removes oil and impurities off of the skin, keeping skin clean and acne-free.

Oatmeal is a good cleaning agent, but if you have ache, it's not going to help. But if you want to try it, make a paste of it with sea salt and water put it on face like you would a mud pack/mask and leave on for ten minutes.

ngry-looking red pimples filled with a yellowish discharge are a sign of excess pitta dosha, says Vasant Lad, B.A.M.S., M.A.Sc, director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. (For more information about the Ayurvedic doshas, see "All about Vata, Pitta and Kapha" on page 28.) To control acne, he suggests adopting a diet that includes plenty of bland foods such as oatmeal, applesauce and basmati rice and eliminates fried foods, spicy foods and citrus fruits.
