I thought the same way. I use to use proactive for 5 years. You have to be on Proactive for 2 months to have results, and once you stop using proactive, all problems will return. .....you must not have problem prone skin, you may have oily skin, and proactive is not made for that. Oily skin is: surface oil, large pores, occasional breakouts, marks from old breakouts, blackheads, and clogged pores. Most people commonly confuse that with acne/problem prone skin. If you have oily skin try glycolic (bha/aha), and salycalic acid products such as md formulations, they would balance out your skin.
Also, overtime benzoyl peroxide (which is in proactive) is not good for the skin because its basically antibacterial and bleaching agents can cause pre-mature wrinkling.
All products will only help control surface acne or other skin problems only, the best thing to do is ask your doctor about antibacterial oral prescription for skin problems from forming. My best friend is on it, she had acne since she was 13, and now I have actually seen her face clear for the first time in 9 years.

When I used proactive it worked the whole time i used it. The only thing I didn't like was that it made my skin oily. I never had oily skin before I used this & when I stopped using it my skin wasn't oily anymore.

well, i haven't used proactiv but you know, i used clearasil for my acne and yes, after 2 and a half weeks it seems to have stopped working, in fact making it worse!!! i guess that's the way they designed it so, afterwards you'll need to buy more and more

proactiv drys out your dermis and is somewhat puffed up..i found a miles better product, attempt Neutrogena progressed ideas zits therapy device..it has each thing you ought to end and stop it from happening and it would not over dry your dermis it is the better area AND its 1 / 4 of the cost and greater dermatologists advise it to their shoppers then the different device.

yes that happened to me. When you put a product on your face for the very 1st time, it isnt used to it, so its self cleaning itsself(your skin), but after using for like a week, it gets used to it and your skin goes back to its normal self(acne/zits) etc.
p.s.
a good soap to use is by ponds-fresh start, daily exfoliating cleanser.
it has a natural ingrediants, like cucumber, flowers, honey etc.

yes i think you trick yourself into thinking its working since you have such high hopes and then reality hits and you notice that it has not done a damn thing for your skin. im really pissed off for wasting so much money, and continuing because i thought my skin will eventually get better. grr now it sells for so much cheaper!
