Runners often suffer from this kind of pain. Running causes too much impact on your knees and the tendency to develop it can also be genetic. To stop it from happening? Walk instead>>> causes less impact on your joints.

My doctor told me that many people in their mid 20's - mid 30's and even a bit older are now experiencing a lot of knee and hip pain due to being taught to exercise incorrectly in high school. All those things we did in PE... the warmups, etc... all contributed to what would become joint problems in the future. That's what my doc says anyways.

In any case, running is a high impact activity. It is tough on your joints. Try speed walking or swimming or bicycling... those are all much lower impact and should be easier on your joints while still providing a great workout.
