I need to have my indepence so have can I tell my parents this without making them feel Im cutting them out of my life? I mean I know Im young and still their child but I need to have a life they will not be there forever I need to make real friends other than them.

They r your parents and they r concerned for your welfare u should be greatful. They only want u to fill them in on wats being going on in your life. Tell them just to call once a week im sure they will understand that u have alot of study to do.

ur in college?<<< thats college not colege---lol just busting ur chops---hey listen---u need to compromise with ur parents and tell them how you feel and come to some sort of an arrangement---besides---u dont have to pick the phone up everytime they call and if you are come up with some kinda signal with ur roommate--like "mom theres a fire drill and we all have to get out of the building" or something like that--hey be thankful ur parents love you this much! and you will always always be there little girl----some advice from a dad! good luck and study hard!

When I first started college, I called my folks once a day. I then slowly "forgot" to call. Now I call about once a week to fill them in on the basics.
If all else fails, claim the phone broke and write them letters. :P

You're in college? Better learn how to spell real quick if you want to graduate.
You may feel grown up, but you are still their baby. You're stuck with them until you graduate and move out on your own.

You are lucky that your parents care about you. People like me are just waiting to get one call from parents. Please give them my contact and ask if they can adopt me as their son. I will talk to them everyday.
