And not just for pleasure, to celebrate your love for someone, etc.

Why or why not?

To your first question, no. What type of relationship would a couple have without continued sexual intimacy? I've known people who believed that sex was only for procreation. Are they married now? No.

Sorry to cut in, I'm a Christian and I know the question is not for me. But IF procreation is the only purpose of sex, how many children would couples have by now? I understand your point, and I agree. Sex is also for the pleasure of husbands and wives.

It's quite clear that sex is not only intended for procreation. If sex was only for making a baby, then there would be no need for the pleasure that is associated with it. One is expected in a marriage to have sex with some consistency. Married couples are meant to continue having sex throughout their marriage as one form of expressing their love for one another.

Pleasure, man! It's for procreation, but then you have to think that it was for pleasure which was the cause for the unplanned procreation. That's the reason abortions are looked down on, it's because of irresponsible women who think they want to be a parent so quickly.

To focus only on the fun is to limit the possibilities...

God created conjugal relations for the survival of the species and the edification of God's love for man and woman.

Conjugal relations are a part of true love not selfish lusts and instant gratifications.

Jesus the Christ teaches, no greater gift than this, to lay down one's life for one's friend. Husband and wives must sacrifice self for the other totally.

no sex was created to be shared between a husband and his wife within the union of marriage for both procreation and pleasure!

Thats just poposturouse. (wow i cant spell that word)

Why would nature make it so pleasing if it was just for procreation. Well ofcourse its so pleasing to incline us to procreate, and thats what its for. It feals good so we want to have more sex and spread our gene. Therefore, when i have sex, im just doing what nature/god wants from me, to satisfy this urge in hopes of procreation. Of course theres condoms now, so i just got the upperhand on this.

No, I think sex is for various things, of which procreation is just one. Consider that a female need not climax for procreation, yet that function was included in the standard model.

Let's go for the pleasure and love aspect a bit more and slow down on the procreation, the world is crowded.
