My 3 yr old daughter got her ears pierced 4 months ago and i took out one earring today and it had a hard lump in it like its infected but when i pushed on it to get the gunk out it was all blood, and it hurts her really bad. when you look at it you can see the blood still in it. Is this a simple infection or should i take her to her Doc. tomorrow?

Where exactly is the lump? in the hole or to the side? It could be a clot. Is it all red and swollen? Try rubbing the area with alcohol first (use one of those alcohol wipes for first aid) and then place some neosporin on it. You could try leaving her earring off for a week or so. If it starts getting red, swollen, warm to the touch, and with puz oozing out, I would take her to the doc.

Try the neosporin. It worked for my daughter and cleared up her earring hole quickly. She is wearing the earrings again with no problem. If it doesn't clear in a day or so I would call the doc. If it is bad enough she may need antibiotics. Watch for a lowgrade fever...that is a sign of infection that needs treatment.
