I took my 2 year old son to the park a few months back, we walked up to a little tree there and he gave it a huge hug. Gave me a lump in my throat, I hope he continues to want to hug them!

if so my whole family will hug one with you.

The term "tree hugger" is used to describe someone who loves nature and is very serious about protecting the environment. If they catch someone littering or not recycling or pulling grass out of the ground, they would do something about it. Some of these "tree huggers" could hug a tree, if they were that serious about it. It all depends on their personal opinions.

I just recently visited New Zealand and went to see the oldest surviving Kauri tree there, it survived the logging of the early settlers and was living long before white settlers set foot there, it was truly awesome and photographing it requiring three separate frames... hugging was not permitted as it would damage the tree's huge but shallow roots if tourist's were treading over them constantly. Once the North Island of new Zealand was covered in magnificent mature Kauri forest. I managed to hug some younger Kauri trees however.

I'm up for a tree-hugging groovy-vibed peace and harmony session. Surely that's got to be the key to a Star Trek world, hasn't it? That next evolutionary (or god-given) step from saying "I believe this" to saying "You believe that? Cool. Respect and peace to you as a fellow human being, now let's be groovy."

Here's hoping (and hugging) anyway!

Honestly? No - I cannot allow a person to erroneously beleive that their God is better than someone else's and that I should die because I dont beleive in their God. Sorrry, but I REFUSE to tolerate that beleif.

Otherswise, Im down for the tree hug.

Ideals we should all shoot for, I've hugged trees before, metaphorically speaking, I'll probably hug them again.
