I guess my question is how long is a normal relationship before popping the question? and how long should the engagement be???

Everything depends on the two people in the relationship. If it is love then it's love and you'll both know it. People elope after knowing each other for only a matter of hours and others it takes years before they are willing to walk down the aisle. If you and your partner have talked about marriage and they seem up for and you can see yourself in a relationship with them then pop the question. Also there is no set time for the length of an engagement. It really depends on the size of the wedding, the amount of time necessary to plan, and an ideal time to take a honeymoon.

It depends on how long you have been dating and how long you have known each other. Some people can get engaged and married after knowing each other for a month and have the best marriage will others can know each other for 10 year and get divorced after the first year of mariage. It depends on you and her. Do not take it too fast but do not let if go on forever without making a commitment because she will get tired of wating.
If you ask me wait you think of no reason to wait anylong and get married when you feel it is the right time but if you have been dating for a few years the engagement should be no longer than half the time of dating.

give it at LEAST one year you should be really close and there should be some love
when YOU both are ready then the time is right.

it all depends on the people involved and what you both want --- there is no "normal" time --- go with your heart
