What distance race? In sprint races we are in the range of up to 30 miles an hour. In longer races up to the Idatrod they average upwards of 10 to 12 miles an hour for the entire distance.

I have ridden on a dogsled and would guess about 25 mph. You understand a dogsled race like the Iditarod is not a dead heat. It covers a thousand miles from Anchorage to Nome, with many rest stops along the way. Since most races last about 10 days, on the average they run less than 10 miles per hour.
