First.. My blood is practically boiling! You're probably around 15 so that would make your mom less than 40. And you call that elderly? Girl.. you've got a whole lot to learn. Your mom is barely middle-aged and if your gramma is around 60-65 she's not elderly either! That word is saved for the 80+ crowd these days.

I'm almost 60 and am still in touch with what's in and not. Most of us do care and so follow the trends. Age has nothing to do with it until you become old and infirm. Your mom and gramma probably just don't happen to like the look of that style.

It's your hair so wear it the way you like it.

So you're asking about whether they like to look at them, not wear them, right?

Older people prefer styles that aren't "trendy". They have seen a lot of styles come and go in their lives and I think they pretty much prefer styles that look good all the time. Also, your grandma might see your bangs as trying to cover your face and she would rather see your face, because she loves you.

Older people don't like anything unusual in hair, period. Try a nice bob with some straight bangs or long layers. That's about all they can stand. Or tell them to try to remember being young and teasing their hair into a ridiculous pile or flipping it or something.
