I am in my senior year of high school and have crap loads of research papers ranging from 3-16+ pages and was wondering if when I get a similar/same/open ended assignment in college if it is ok for me to turn these in again? Is it like a branch of plagiarism or is there any punishment if found that I handed it in for a high school paper (doubt it would be found out, but if it somehow were).

I know the professors look for certain things when it comes to school work in college. They want to see that you have progressed in college and that you arn't back in high school still. What I would do if I was you is look at the pages, edit them to where its more college type. More vocab etc etc. Then rewrite it. I woudnt hand it in just the way it is. What im saying is "spruce it up" a bit!

i had a professor in college that told me i could use papers i wrote in her class later in other classes i took under her (i know, its beside the point.) i dont THINK it would be plagarism since YOU are the one who wrote the papers. how would your professor know you used the paper in high school? do you think he/she would call your high school teacher and ask? if it were me in the situation i might change up or improve the papers first before turning them in to a professor though. just a suggestion.

I don't think it is wrong since you originally wrote them and put all the work into them. You aren't stealing anyone else's words. That being said I would at least revise them and change them a little bit so it isn't like you simply printed it out and re-turned it in.

Not plagerism, but it would be looked down upon. That considered, I would probably use them as long as I wrote them originally.

maybe you can get ideas from those papers and write your own...then you will have a clear conscience.
