Funny that Christians dont understand the question or say youre confused - this is the basic story of Jesus.
Jesus is God incarnate. Jesus came to earth to die for our sins so that God (Jesus himself) would forgive all sins. Jesus also told everyone that the OT was old news and no longer applied - so Jesus, acting as God, changed his own mind....
If this isnt evidence that MAN wrote a book full of circular logic, then I dont know what evidence is (and Im an Investigator for work, so I doubt thats the problem...) Kinda strange to me that an all loving God would need BLOOD ATONEMENT to make him happy.... And, Tamil, if it was God's plan all along - isnt that kinda scary? What all loving guy would deliberately PLAN to kill his only Son (aka himself??)

That's the million dollar question isn't it?
Why was a mere weekend of torture needed? Why did someone need to die for "our" sins? Hell, millions of people suffered more than the character of Jesus in the Bible... just in the Holocaust alone!
Before Jesus, God liked animal sacrifices. (Check the OT for those who disagree). Then God decided that he needed to sacrifice the most important animal of them all - man. But God also thought it would be neat to "sacrifice" himself... although I use the term "sacrifice" loosely as nothing really was sacrificed... Jesus came back a few days later.
In any case, God could have wrinkled his nose like the lady from Bewitched and used his magic mojo to change the rules. God could have told everyone the rules were diferent... appeared to everyone in the sky at the same time. Instead, God decided to die in a little desert area so that for centuries, millions of people knew nothing or very little about the "sacrifice." Believing in Jesus is a requirement, but God thought it was smart to tell as few people as possible about it.
IT ALL MAKES PERFECT SENSE

There you go. The carefully planned lies of a selfish greedy false god making up a false religion to gain slaves for himself never fooled YOU. Why would he do it. That is a brilliant question. The reason Looeamong the false god who made up Christianity did it was to gain personal power, take millions of people as slaves. The contrived story is not logical but it broke peoples hearts and the false god raked in believers whose relatives to this day love and cry over a Jesus who never existed.
Get a book titled Oahspe, buy it; it's worth your time.

It was Gods plan from the beginning, so we could be redeemed from our sins & have everlasting life. I believe it was Gods backup plan if Adam sinned. Since the Messiah was prophesied in Genesis 3:16 that the seed of the Woman (not mans seed) would defeat the serpent. To defeat the serpent and death & hell.

He didnt.
Eve and Adam were forgiven the minute they realized what they had done and asked for forgiveness.
Were not on earth because of their sin.
Were here because were meant to. God knew exactly what Eve and Adam would do because of their imperfect and forgetful nature. Or it wouldnt make sense for God to put us here if He didnt know Adam and Eve were going to eat that apple. He knew exactly that they would.

I don't exactly understand the question, but if you don't mind my two cents:
Those that have faith believe that God is real. If you believe, your faith suggests that you really "can't" question it. You believe what there is and that's all there is to it.
If you choose not to believe that is fine, too.
On the flip side, though... I see nothing wrong with HAVING faith yet still having the right to question what has been taught or being laid before you.

Who said God did that? God never came to earth. Instead, he sent his Son, Jesus. See John 3:16

well, first he checked his grammar, second it was his son, third that is a good question. technically since Jesus died for our sins, shouldn't everybody just go to heaven?
