You may need to focus more on toning up and strength training and exercise than on losing weight. If you make a few life style changes you should be able to lose some weight within a reasonable time frame. However, youcannot "spot reduce" and lose just belly fat. You have to lose fat overall. This is a system that has worked well for me and several friends have also been successful with it.

1. Eat three nutritious meals and three snacks everyday. Cut out junk food. You probably need about 1500 to 1800 calories a day. Many people make the mistake of not eating enough when they try to lose weight and then become discouraged.

2. Drink lots of water - at least 8 big glasses as day. Lots of water is essential. Stop drinking soda and other drinks with useless calories. Eat fresh fruit instead of fruit juices - the juices are very high in calories.

3. Begin a simple weight lifting program at home or at a gym. Ordinary household items (tins of soup, for example) can actually serve as weights for beginners. Buy yourself a good weight lifting book for women. Actually the "dummies" series of books has done a rather good one.

4. Walk, walk, walk. Buy yourself a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day.

5. Record everything you eat and all your exercise to make sure you have a "calorie deficit". Two of the sites I've included will help you do that. Basically buring more calories than you take in leads to weight loss. You need a deficit of 3500 calories to lose one pound.

6. Always use stairs - never the elevator or escalator.

7. A mini stepper is an easy piece to equipment to have at home and gives great results. I bought mine at a second hand store for $4. Even if you use it for a minute or two several times a day it can make a big difference.

I hope these thoughts help. You can do this. Good luck with it.

Do you eat the right kinds of food or do you eat more at fast food restaurants? If you eat a lot of fast food, it is impossible to burn off the calories that you take in. The key to losing weight or keeping weight management is to burn more calories a day than you consume. Eat veggies, fish, poultry, pork and avoid red meat when possible. Red meat was shown to contribute to health problems in women and men. Exercise at least four days a week. Drink water instead of soda. Before starting an exercise program, consult with your parents to be checked by a doctor to avoid any complications.

There is no "quick way to drop ten pounds" but there are ways you can work on the belly area. Try limiting the amount of starch and eating more fruits and veges. If you eat things like pasta and bread, opt for whole wheat versions. It may take you a couple of months but you could do it. Also, try writing down what you are eating. It will help you realize what you are putting into you mouth and help you realize what needs to be altered in your diet.

Stop drinking soda, drink water all day and limit yourself to one milk and one soda or tea a day.

EAT BREAKFAST. Some people think they can eat once a day and loose weight. You've got to get your day started with breakfast and don't starve yourself. Try a protein bar, oatmeal or yogurt.

Eat a snack around 10:30 and again around 3:00. Fruit. Not chips.

Run or walk a few times a week. Start walking and work your way up to running.

Cut out mayo or switch to low fat.

If you eat fast food get a small fry, no mayo and no cheese and try a grilled chicken sandwich.

You can do it. It might be harder for you than others but you can do it. Good luck.

Consume from 1,500-1,800 calories a day (try not to get too low, since you're an athlete). Have a good variety of fruits, veggies, lean meats, poultry, fish, whole grains, and low or no fat dairy products. You should do cardio more often and try strength training. You need to eat foods that are good sources of calcium, protein, fiber, and iron. Also, try joining an online food journal type website, like www.thedailyplate.com. When you go out to eat, try finding good, healthy options. Grilled chicken or fish are good options- try staying away from breaded, "crispy", and fried foods; they have tons of fat and aren't very nutritious. Make sure you're getting at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day; I get at least 7 or 8. Search online for more info. WebMd is great and even Yahoo! has good health information as well.

One way you can lose weight and stay healthy is by excercising and being active. First of all, you kinda want to try to stay away from candy and chocolate. Maybe since you play volleyball, you gain muscle and not fat.. and if you probably didn't join volleyball, then you would wiegh an extra 10 pounds.

Eat less Move more eat 5 small meals instead of 2-3 larger ones.
Give up any empty calories Pop, fries, chips, candy, etc.
Eat a balanced diet of veggies, brown rice, fish and chicken

Your weight is not unhealthy. You are athletic so remember Muscle weighs more than fat (it is denser).

At 14 you are still growing, cutting out the sugars and portion control is the smartest way to loose weight. It also sets up good habits for later in life when it is easier to put it on and harder to take it off.

Hey. Eat all day little things, like an apple, cereal. You know that sort of stuff. Don't get out of shape no matter how cold it is. And no junk food or cokes, and mostly ice cream, I know that by experience. Trust me it's not good for your weight.
