If you want an in-detail description of what Heaven looks like, plz go to my msn space:

If you want short, specific answers, plz read below:

Heaven: unimaginable bliss in the company of God, prophets, angels, jinn (good spirits), and of course righteous people, where your every desire is fulfilled. There are multiple levels of Heaven, depending on each person's righteousness in life. People will have bodies there, they wont be in spirit form, as many think. That's because God will resurrect our bodies.

Where it is? I'm not sure, but I think it's above the seven heavens, with hell. There's the universe, and then seven heavens after that according to Muslims. but it's location is not important, as the universe and the heavens will be destroyed and there will only remain Paradise and Hell

who goes: the righteous, people who devote themselves to God alone (i.e. Muslims). However, God's mercy is unfathomable, so probably all who have good deeds that outweigh their bad ones. In Islam, Christians, Jews, anyone who worships God alone, WILL enter Heaven God willing. Some might be punished in Hell for what they've done, then get admitted into Heaven later. Some people might enter Heaven for one good deed they've done. God forgives whoever He wants, and punishes whoever He wants.

who doesn't: polytheists, sinners, adulterers...anyone who has not worshipped God and whose sins outweigh their good deeds. Although, again, nothing is for sure, because God only knows. These answers are just generalizations.

when: after Judgement Day, which will take place after the universe is destroyed. When is that? Soon. How soon? God knows. (p.s soon in God's eyes may be a couple of thousand years)

What is it thought to be like: there's too much to describe, so you'll have to check the link above.

Peace be with you

I am a Muslim. Well I heard that it is a wonderful place where the colors are even more vivid than what we have here. We will never hunger or thirst again. All we have to do is say apple and it will appear in our hands.
Each and every person will have a spouse especially made for them. There will be homes that are so beautiful they will rival those on earth. There will be sad to say a window between Heaven and Hell so the occupants can see one another.
Muslims believe the afterlife is only beyond a veil. I always believed that Heaven is up in the sky.
Only those who deserve to go to Heaven will go. The title Muslim does not keep you from doing wrong. You have to earn that right.
The people who do not go to heaven have not earned that right.
I guess the answer why is to say as I said before you have to earn the right, title is nothing.
I hoped that I helped.
Thanks for listening.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh (May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you), Everything that sister 'Hazirah' above said, plus there will also be people who will come in front of Allah with legitimate excuses for not excepting Islam on Judgement day, the deaf for example will claim that they couldn't hear the message of Islam, and this is true, and these people along with people who didn't hear the message of Islam don't go to paradise straight away nor to Hell, rather they will be tested by Allah, and only He knows best as to what trials they'll face. As for the believers not all Muslims go to paradise, Islam is not like Christianity and Judaism where it claims, as long as you're in this religion you will be safe. In fact the messenger of Allah (saws) said “The people of scripture (Jews and Christians) were divided into 71 or 72 religious sects but My ummah will be divided into 73 sects. All of them will be in the Fire except one. And that one will be those who (will follow on what) I and My followers (the sahaba) are today.” [Saheeh Muslim, No. 976] The saved sect out of the 73 is Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jamaa'ah (the followers of the Prophet's teachings and the consensus).

We believe that is is like this life but a thousand times better.

19:60] Only those who repent, believe, and lead a righteous life will enter Paradise, without the least injustice.

[19:61] The gardens of Eden await them, as promised by the Most Gracious for those who worship Him, even in privacy. Certainly, His promise must come to pass.

[19:62] They will not hear any nonsense therein; only peace. They receive their provisions therein, day and night.

[19:63] Such is Paradise; we grant it to those among our servants who are righteous.

40:40] Whoever commits a sin is requited for just that, and whoever works righteousness - male or female - while believing, these will enter Paradise wherein they receive provisions without any limits.

Believers go. people who believe that there is only one God who sent many prophets to lead people to the right path
to go to heaven you must do the obvious, (treat people the way you wanna be treated, etc) follow the rules of islam (no sex before marraige dont drink dont gamble, etc)
heaven is somewhere in the seven skies (i think)
who doesnt go: non believers. because with all this evidence and all these signs they refuse to believe in God Almighty who granted them health and happiness
When? when the time comes, it could be anytime. it could be tomorrow... nobody knows

Heaven is a place where people get rewarded by getting to go to it.

Where is it?
We don't know. ALLAH(GOD) knows.

Who goes?
In islam we are not allowed to say who goes and who doesn't go.
But the basic things someone must have is believe in ALLAH(God) and doing good on earth.

WHo doesn't?
Any one who dies not believing in ALLAH(god) or associates a partner with ALLAH (god), Those people who do what I just mentioned go tohell forever, will never go to heaven.

people who do bad on earth. will be punished buit will eventually get out.

WHY?
Becuase ALLAH(God) wills it.
If people don't believe in him why should they go to heaven.

When?
After the day of judment. armeggadden(However you spell it).

heaven is a beutifull place where rivers of honey, milk and water, pass through it.
A place where all your wishes come true.
Many foods, colors you that you have never seen before.

So unlike anything of this world that no one is capable of imagining it.

feel free to E-mail me..

No one really has a clue what it's like or who goes. Just speculation by all religious groups. Either you believe or you don't.

[47:16] A description of the Garden promised to the righteous: Therein are streams of water which corrupts not; and streams of milk of which the taste changes not; and streams of wine, a delight to those who drink; and streams of clarified honey. And in it they will have all kinds of fruit, and forgiveness from their Lord. Can those who enjoy such bliss be like those who abide in the Fire and who are given boiling water to drink so that it tears their bowels?

In the Holy Qur’àn, interesting and varied interpretations have been made, regarding death, the study of all the aspects of which, shall become very elaborate, hence we suffice by mentioning a few of the beautiful and expressive interpretations, which have appeared in some of the verses.

1. Meeting with God (Allàh)

The Holy Qur’àn, in the last verse of the Surah Kahf, has expressed death as a meeting with Allàh

“So whoever desires to meet his Lord, he should do good deeds and not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord.”

2. Return to God (Allah)

Another interpretation which the Holy Qur’àn has and which makes clear the reality of death, is “return to Allàh”. However, the Islamic philosophers, regarding the manner of the creation of the entities (and amongst them, man) by Allàh and after then, their return towards Allàh, have subtle, profound and interesting theories. The Holy Qur’àn says:

“Verily, we are Allàh's and verily to Him shall we return.”

3. Seizing of the Soul

One of the beautiful interpretations of the Holy Qur’àn in the matter of death is(توفّى). This word means seizing a thing in its entirety. Hence, according to the verse under consideration, the reality of death is that the angels commissioned to take the soul, seize the entire personality of man at the time of death, and remove it from the captivity of the body. They, then carry it to the Divine Presence:

“Say: the Angel of Death who is given charge of you shall cause you to die, then to your Lord you shall be brought back.”

'Death' - according to the Traditions

The traditions also contain beautiful, subtle, instructive and interesting interpretations regarding death, some which are mentioned.

1. The bridge of crossing

In some of the traditions, death has been referred to as a bridge, over which people, at the time of transfer from this world to the other world, shall cross and reach their goal, which is the other world. For example, Imàm Husaىn (’a) on the day of ‘Ashurà, speaking to his loyal companions said:

“Remain firm, O sons of noble people, because death is just a bridge which will cross you and transfer you from discomforts and troubles, into the extensive gardens of paradise. So which of you does not desire his freedom from prison and entering into a castle. Of course, death for your enemies is like their being transferred from a palace and a castle into prison and torture.”60

2. Removal of clothes

In some of the traditions, death has been compared to clothes, which of course differs, with respect to a believer and an unbeliever. Death, for a believer is like dirty clothes, which he removes and frees himself from its dirtiness and unpleasant odor, whereas, death with respect to an unbeliever is also like clothes, but beautiful, costly and pleasant-smelling, which he must remove from his body at the time of transfer to the other world.

3. Sleep

In some other traditions, death has been compared to sleep, in which the soul goes out of the body. The only fundamental difference between sleep and death is that the coming out of the soul from the body, at the time of sleep, is only for a short period of time. In addition, the connection between the body and the soul is not completely severed. On the other hand, researches pertaining to the soul has proved shown that the soul maintains a connection with the body in a very special manner. While, at the time of death and after that, the severance of this connection is more complete than that during sleep, although, after death too, a weak connection does exist for a certain period.

Another point is that the coming out of the soul at the time of death continues up to the Universal Resurrection. This tradition says:

“Imam Muhammad Baqir (a’) was questioned as to what is death? The Imam (‘a) replied “ Death is the very same sleep that comes to you every night. However this is a sleep, which is very long, and man shall not wake up from it until the Day of Judgement. Thus one who sees different types of pleasure and happiness in his sleep over which he, (in his wakefulness) has no power and similarly he sees the different types of fear-instilling things, while he has no power over them. Thus, how is the state of happiness and fear in the sleep? (The affairs shall be similarly so in the state of death too). This is death. So be ready and prepared for it.”
