Derz dis dance up at my high school, so I ask dis girl to it, and well she said yes. So I thought we be goin' out like after da dance thingy, so I bought a quite expensive gift to give her der, but it turns out we just be goin' as friends. So should I just hold onto it till I actually get a g.f. and give it 2 her. Cuz I don't usually have any money.

Wait, or return it. It is nice to give friends gifts sometimes if you want, but if it is really expensive than hang on to it, and when you do find the right girl, wait a few dates before you give it to her....

If you bought the gift thinking about her, just give it to her for her birthday or Christmas. If you bought the gift for a girl in general than give it to whomever will be your next girlfriend, but don't tell her that it was originally for this girl.

Dude --don't give her a gift ---are you serious??? Unless your sure that she is interested in you that way you will look stupid giving her a gift and she may feel awkward around you! Besides there may be another girl that likes you and if your giving gifts to someone else then you lose twice!!

just cuz u ask a girl out to the dance doesn't mean ur dating or ur going out as more than just friends. if u bought her a gift give it to her, as it was intended to be for her. it would be messed up if u gave the gift to someone else, after all, it was intended to be for the girl u asked to the dance. anyhow, it's cool... don't worry. have fun. enjoy. give the gift or don't. its up to you. return it, burn it, do whatever.
