Everyone has a different tolerance to pain. It may hurt or it may not hurt. Wearing braces is a pain. But, believe me is well worth the money spent. It's easier to clean straight teeth than crooked teeth.
In the long run, it will be better for you. Granted they are costly, but maybe when you get older, you can get a job and pay your dad back his money.

I had to have braces when i was younger. They had to remove 2 teeth in order for them to work properly. It's no big deal, and they give you pain pills to take with you for pain (ask for those) and then don't use those pain pills unless you absolutely have too.

After they are in your mouth a week or so, it doesn't hurt all that much. But once they do what they are designed for, it's really great to have a nice toothy smith.

Good luck, hope you get those. hope they work for you.

Depending on the types of braces you have and how fast you want the doctors to strengthen them out will determine how much or how long you will be sore.

In the beginning, you'll be in some pain, especially if they use the bands that wrap around your mohlers. The first couple of days after you have them put on, you'll have to get used to the brackets. The orthodontist also doesn't put the wires on right away. They usually give you a week to let the glue dry and for your mouth to get used to the brackets. After they put the wires on, that's when you'll feel the real soreness. Usually just for the first 1 or 2 days.

Honestly, it all depends on your pain level tolerance. If you're in pain with every slight little bump and bruise, the discomfort associated with the braces moving your teeth may be painful.

I had braces for 8 years. I was only uncomfortable the 1st day of each appointment. But then, I have a high pain-level tolerance.

Good luck. The little time your would be experiencing pain, could be worth it. As for the money, call around first. Try to find a place that charges you one price for the entire process regardless of how many visits you need. The ones that charge you per visit, or want to charge to extra for visits after so many visits, may seem cheaper at first. But they tend to have a way of suddendly needing extra visits and could cost a lot more.

Geez, if it hurt that much people wouldn't get them. Your friends are a bunch of whiney boxes. If you need them, then go for it while you are young!

Yeah, when you first get them on, or when they have to tighten them at one of your check-ups, it may be uncomfortable enough to where you need to take some Advil and your mouth stays sore for a couple of days, but in the end it is worth it. My daughter had to have several teeth pulled, and yet she did fine. The key to less pain is to find a very good dentist to pull the teeth and a very good orthodontist who has great assistants to help him/her.

As far as cost goes, yes, they are expensive, but the orthodontist will work with your parents to set up a payment plan over a period of up to 3 years. Or if you have a college within driving distance that has a dental school, you can get braces done cheaper there. The work done there is supervised by qualified orthodontists.

You will be amazed at your beautiful smile when all the work is done and your braces come off someday.

It does hurt but in the end it's worth it if you can afford it. See if your family has insurance and if so, the insurance might be able to cover some of it. I had braces for 2 years and since then, I have had them off for nearly 10 years, I get compliments on my teeth all the time!! Trust me, if you can do it, it's worth a lifetime of beautiful teeth.

But you should see an orthadontist because only they can tell you if you really need them.

A little pain today will pay off in the future. I got braces when I was 14. The Ortho had to remove most of my wisdom teeth and I was even stuck with the dreaded headgear. It sucked during the whole process, but once you finally have your braces off you gain such confidence. Even now almost 15 years later I still get comments on my teeth. It’s a great investment, which I glad my parents made.

Holly what your peers believe won't subject if you wish to have braces and do not get them it would reason a few terrible soreness to the overlapping tooth as you grow older. Your roots begin bumping in combination and boy do I keep in mind that soreness!!!!!! Don't forget your tooth. Here's my propose: Do now not do the transparent!! Why? The transparent is obvious and practically invisible however they're very cumbersome and may also be visible baring for your lips while you mouth is near. I have the constant steel braces with silver bands, they mixture with the steel they usually slightly bulge! Good success!

well either your friends are babies or they dont really hurt and they just dont want you to get braces. i think it to be the first of these two. and no. it doesn't really hurt that much. and you probably wont have to get teeth pulled, they will just give you an expander. i have to get braces on for 1.5- 2 years and with 1500$ insurance coverage, it is only $3500 dollars.
