My husband just found out today that we have a deros date of April 9, 2007, but we don't have written orders to PCS. How can we have a deros date but no orders?

Cuz the military is fuct! seriously, though, what branch are you in?

I'm in the AF, and the guys are right. Your DEROS date just means that's when you're supposed to leave. You probably won't get orders until next month. Make sure your husband is doing everything you're supposed to in the mean time. (Checklist items like doing the online PCS brief, etc.)

I'm supposed to leave next month, and I still don't have my orders. If you're 3 weeks out from PSCing and still have no, call your Military Personnel Office or have him ask the orderly room about it.

DEROS means date expected to return overseas, has nothing to do with your orders.

As soon as you come down on assignment, your dates are set. They know when you are going, and counting from that day, they know when you will come back to CONUS. Look on your assignment satisfaction key, under on assignment, and it should tell you what your report day is. Your S-1 should be giving you a levy packet soon.
