I have my creative nature but it only ticks on every so often. So anyway, we moved in about a month ago and my mom's been ragging on me to get my room done. I was wondering if u guys had any ideas on what i could do or if u knew of any sites to help me get ideas. I'm a 13 year old, i lyk rock, i'm a christian, and i'm not totally girly but i'm not a tomboy. Most of the things in my room are green, purple, or blue. A site w/ easy diy things for my room would help a lot. I hope i'm not reaching for the stars and i can get help. Thanks.

What kind of things do you want to do for your room? If you need storage, you can find nice baskets to go on bookshelves to put things in that otherwise would look kind of cluttered lying around.

If you want to do some window treatments, go to your local thrift store and look through their curtains, bedspreads, and bed sheets. Lots of fabric usually pretty cheap. If you sew, that's a plus, but there are a lot of no-sew window treatments, too.

In addition to websites (HGTV is a great one), check your local library. They usually have lots of decorating books, some designed especially for teens.

Also, there are a lot of good ideas on the Better Homes & Gardens site (BHG.com). They have some rooms that you can change things like wall color or draperies or comforter colors or designs to see which you like best.

Definitely check out HGTV.com! There are tons of things there.

You could...

paint the walls and woodwork, even the furniture!

make matching accessories (lampshades and picture frames)

arrange the furniture in interesting ways (like on an angle)

put down funky rugs and floor pillows

make your own window decorations

hang up interesting materials--strings of beads, pretty fabric, photo collage

Have fun!! I hope this helps! :)

Let's see if I can help you. Send me a picture of your room.
3 pictures: One from the door, another from your bed and another from your closet...not of your closet but from it.
