I am comparing it to communism because it is the same thought process as communism in which the people are controlled, not that communist leaders used the bible during the bolshevik revolution.

please stop posting about judaism. that is not part of the discussion. the question is whether or not the bible is used to control mankind's thoughts and actions. giving us only 2 options, submit to the ways this book tells us to live or no heaven in our afterlife.

Girl, you've got something here. This is one of the most brilliant statements I have heard in my life. Using the word 'brainwashed' hits it right on the head. I believe that the Bible is a state of mind. Anyone who has actually read the book in detail, cannot deny that it is full of hypocrisies and ornate demands. To each their own, but I completely agree with you.

Mankind has certainly failed but it is not doomed. Jesus came to redemn mankind. I thought communists wanted to do away with all religion and in fact all religious people.
Added: Religion can be used as a tool to manipulate people. People succumb blindly to religious leaders all the time. That's why it's important to use your mind regarding religion, and yes, common sense too. And also science, as I never saw any conflict there. The Bible says to love the Lord God with all your heart, soul and MIND. It was only in modern history that the idea of faith became opposed to science. In spite of the historical superstitions of many people, most great discoverers and scientists were religious people until the last 100-200 years.
I might also point out that mankind has attained more scientific knowledge in the last 2000 years since the beginning of Christianity than in all the thousands and thousands of years that went before.

properly, i'm no fan of Christians and am no longer a believer in the bible, yet that could no longer completely genuine. I actually have considered many lives turn round for sturdy by following the bible. If someone takes it to coronary heart and quite believes it and does what it says they can do a lot sturdy. the problem comes even as human beings interpret it they way they opt for it to study really of the way it quite reads, then they war to regulate others by what they imagine is what it says. no longer all Christians attempt to regulate others and in no way all church homes are undesirable. there's a lot sturdy happening. It only is roofed up by those who do no longer adhere to bible doctrine.

It is you that has been brainwashed, or totally uneducated. First of all Judaism started 7000 years ago not two, Christianity is just an offshoot of Judaism, and out leader is most definitely a Jew.

Oh you poor uninformed thing! For one thing, communist traditionally were staunchly AGAINST the teachings of the bible. Christians in communist countries had to worship in SECRET. For another, communism is a twentieth century idea. It didn't even exist 2000 years ago. It might help to get your facts straight next time you try to go against the word of God. I disagree. Belief in Bible teaching is not compulsory.
Had you lived under a communist government then you'd know that belief in the Communist Party ideology (at least for outward appearances) is compulsory.
