Do you work out (lift weights)? or have you been doing some strenuous labor. This often happens with muscle growth. I lift weights twice a day and that's what causes mine.

I am a physician assistant. There are som medical conditions associated with stretch marks, such as Cushing's disease (which is when your body makes excess cortisol). I would see your doctor if they came out of nowhere and you have no explanation for them. Some symptoms of Cushing's are weight gain, fatigue, bloating, increase weight in face (called "moon facies"), purplish stretch marks, and weight gain over the shoulders and back (called a "buffalo hump"). Hope this helps!

My doctor told me that the reason I may have stretch marks is because of Rapid weight gain. Now, I'm not 200 pounds. I weigh 137. I used to weigh about 114. I gained it kind of fast by eating a lot more than I used to as often as I used to.
