GAP: Glock Automatic Pistol; an attempt by Glock Manufacturer to create a cartridge comparable to the .45acp but shorter, therefore usable in a .9mm sized pistol. Did they succeed? At least on paper they have.

ACP: Automatic Colt Pistol; defines several bullets the .45acp being the best known followed by the .380acp.

JHP: Jacketed hollow point; describes a bullet type/design which features a full metal jacket, usually copper, and a hollow tip which is usually serrated to allow the jack to 'peel back' allowing the soft lead within the bullet's jacket to expand.

Hope that helped.

GAP stands for Glock Automatic Pistol, and is similar to the old standard .45. ACP stands for Automatic Colt pistol, and is the old standard .45. JHP stands for Jacketed Hollow Point and is a bullet design that is used in many calibers including the .45.

Not sure about GAP, but the .45 ACP round was originally made for the colt M1911, hence the name. JHP stands for jacketed hollow point, just as AP stands for armor piercing and FMJ stands for full metal jacket.

G.A.P means Glock automatic pistol
A.C.P means Colt automatic pistol
JHP means Jacketed hollow point
FMJ means full metal jacket
if you are thinking of a .45 you should get a .45acp because it is the most common and time tested. The gap is really new and unproven in the field, chances are it is going to die off.
JHP are for home protection and are more pricely. FMJ are cheaper and better for penetration and target practice.

acp = automatic colt pistol
jhp = jacketed hollow point
gap = glock automatic pistol
the gap is a junk round so if you are thinking of getting one go for the acp it is much more common and cheaper
