Why not respond to it in the same, comedic way, you would a snail mail invite?

Or you could say:

Tentative - I may be cleaning the lint from my pockets that night.

Brilliant! I love 4, 14 and 20. My dad has an effective one - he asks them their name and the purpose of their call, then goes on to ask them how long they have known the person residing at this address, have they ever made contact with them before and would they be prepared to come into the the police station to give a statement? He then explains that he is Detective Chief Superintendent X and that a murder investigation is being carried out at that moment in the house. They never call back!

I think you meant an invite.
1) yo yo yo! Love to come as long as you aren't bringing a yo yo!!
2) Um what day? OH NO! I am washing my Dinosaur (elephant or any big animal) That day. . .Oh wait It died! Okay I'm in!
3) Umm I'll touch base with you later. so umm which base should I touch and will we be going all the way ( expect to get slapped either way)
4) Umm, yes! I mean no! I mean. . . . Umm .. . umm .. . ( expect someone to about to slap you right before they do say if you slap me I won't go.
5) Can I bring my pet monkey? ( only if it's a girl)

But you really should just be you and say yes
Good luck bye!

Evite? Don't know the word, sorry. Can you give me a context?

I would say don't try to outwit the other respondents in an evite. Just say what is natural for you.
