I think it is great. People with huge egos have huge problems. Nothing bothers me so I am never sad or weak. I wore a lace teddy to school when I was a kid, if I could do that, I can face anything.

This is the best question ever.

I think about this question non stop nowadays. I think people can be humble and powerful and successful all at the same time. in a way humility is power - Nietsche called it the Christian 'will to power'. so when someone says - thank you - those words in some way are powerful.

You do not want to be walked on - so don't let it happen, but always be humble for people recognise what good work the quiet do and God does most importantly.

You can still be humble and tell people about your achievements as long as you don't seek to tell them everything intially. Telling people about your achievements is not bragging. You are stating facts - bragging is an exageration os those facts

Humble doesn't mean weak or sad it means without pride or ego. There is strength and power in true humility as it bends like a blade of grass in the wind. With humility there is no ego to bruise or pride to injure. People with humility go far - look at Gandhi who freed India, Nelson Mandela, Einstein, great athletes.

Good question!

Humility is not humble. Humble is an acceptance of lower rank or position, humility is a refusal to assume a higher rank or position.

Humility is therefore non compliance with hierarchy. In practice it confuses the social order by being neither submissive nor dominant.

Humility is the ultimate position of strength in that it is dependent on no other judgement....but if it is impure....then it is both sad and weak. That is the risk.

true humility and meekness is not a sign of weakness at all. Actually it is strength under the control of the Lord. What I mean by this is, when you see yourself in His eyes you cannot help but feel humbled, just to think He would care and love us enough to send His Son to die for us. A humble person has given up there rights to themselves, and given their lives over to God. So in that , I do not feel that humility is a weakness, but actually a strength,

Humility is a characteristic that we should all strive to attain.

It starts with recognizing that God gives us certain talents, and then we use those talents to accomplish things.

Therefore, when we accomplish things, we shouldn't beat our chests and shout out "Look at what I accomplished".

That would be denying Gods role in the matter.

Humility means feeling a sense of accomplishment yet giving credit where credit is due.

When you are truly humble, you can feel proud of what you do, but you give credit to God by recognizing that he gave your talents and capabilities in the first place.

Yes, it is a good characteristic.

People may think it’s a sign of weakness, but it’s actually the sign of strength. It is actually harder for people to be meek because they have this ego about themselves that they need to prove to the world that they are somebody who will not take any “offense” from anybody. There seems to be a misconception about being meek as being sad or weak; but that’s people’s opinion.

Meek people know who they are and they don't need to prove anything.

I believe in this day and age, people are afraid to show humility of the fear of being someone else's fodder. All humans in positions of power at this point, are portrayed as individuals looking for gain at someones expense. Thus, a majority of our efforts: Seem to be focused towards stopping a would be power grab as opposed to doing anything positive. This is why humility in my opinion, is somewhere near dead.

YES it is. I realy admire people who are humble. I think that which is difficult is the road to take, it's so easy to be arrogant & proud. I read somewhere the only real route to spirituality is through humility.

i know that false humility is a sin. Dont be a walk over but there is no need to be aggressive either.Just being you self and not letting other peoples agendas affect your peace.Just remain happy and at peace at all times, if this up sets others just smile at them and say a small prayer for them.

Yes, and God believes it to be an even better one. I try to be humble, and I don't consider myself sad or weak. Others may percieve me that way, but I can't worry about them. God's opinions of my conduct are far more important to me than a man made label based on misunderstanding. Still, I have to work on this all the time and sometimes it isn't so easy.

Edit: Lion of Judah's answer is excellent. It says all that I think and feel.
