My mom doesn't like dogs(or at least thinks I can't take care of one.) I REALLY want a shiba. Any shiba owners, please help!!!
P.S. The cheaper price, the better! I might have to buy it all myself.
Yes, everything! (Sadly)

It isn't my first pet, or dog, for that matter. Since my mom and I moved, we've just had cats. My dad has a dog(soon two) and four cats(one died; used to be five). He's okay with it, but doesn't even live with me! (two states away)

I agree with everyone else, you'll first have to show her that you can be responsible but please know, puppies and dogs are a LOT of work!! They can't just be something that once the newness wears off, you can ignore. They are pretty needy animals. But if you can handle that for the life of the dog, then really work on showing her how devoted you are to it. Take on extra chores, get a job and start saving money for one and it's supplies, educate yourself completely on what's involved in caring for them, research the breed thoroughly, etc. Do expect to pay high though, Shiba Inu's aren't that common and usually run between $500 and $1000 depending on your local breeders, lineage, etc. Check your area for Shiba Inu rescue groups to see if you can find one cheaper that's in neeed of a home.

OH ya all maximum forgot do not attempt to make dinner, It makes alotta dishes for her to bathe , in case you do make some field macaroni, and some boiled warm dogs she receives excitement from the concept.

You do know what's invloved with caring for a pup correct? I would show her that your reading info on this breed, and puppy training books, care books ect.

And your mom really has to be on board with you, since being you wont be able to afford all the medical care he/she may need and will need in the future (check up's, grooming, ect).
Your mom will have to take care of this Im assuming, if she's making you save up to buy a pup yourself.
I agree with a smaller pet first, show your mom you can be responsible with a bird, hamster, ect first. Pups/dogs are a huge responsiblity that even most adults cant take on themselves.....with all the shelters so full.

Dogs are a really big responsibility. Maybe you should start out with a bird or something. Parakeets (aka Budgies) make great first pets, plus the bird and supplies are really cheap. Maybe once your mom sees how responsible you are with a bird she'll let you get a dog. If you go with a bird, make sure to get a book and read up on it first! Birds need attention, too.

You might want to show your mom you are responsible, by taking on extra chores around the house
