I am about to buy a really good hair straightener. I have had a Sedu before that I purchased from Folica....but I damaged my hair with bleach and I sold it; I never really got to use it to see how good it works.

I am going to purchase my new straightener from Folica.com. I am torn between the Sedu, T3, Chi, Solia, & GHD. What straightener do you recommend?? Also I have thick wavy hair that tends to be coarse so I need something heavy duty, lol.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I can't believe everyone is in love with the Chi. I have a Chi blow dryer and love it. My hair stylist used a T3 on me today and it really didn't get my hair silky straight like I like. Right now I am really torn between a CHI and a SEDU.......man...who knew choosing a straightener could be so hard...but when I am spending $120+ I want to make sure I get the right one.

Anything that is ceramic works great, plus it wont damage your hair as much.

I have an NP which from all accounts is just as good as a Chi but less expensive. All of the stylists in the salon I go to use it themselves and highly recommend it. I really love it and think it works great. I have thick wavy hair and it straightens in one pass. Of course when I was shopping for mine I also heard great things about Chi so if you have the money then that is another alternative and that brand is definitely tried tested and true!

GHD for sure! People complain about the cost, but really, it is the best and will last you a very long time. The ceramic plates mean it is very difficult to damage or burn your hair. I have had mine since 2003 and never had a problem with it. It works as well as it did the day I bought it, and straightens hair really well!

I own a Babyliss Pro one which works awesome! It was given to me, but if I was to purchase one of the ones you are thinking about I would go with the Chi for sure!

i'm mixed(black, asian, portu....) so i have extremely curly and thick hair. but i use corioliss and it's amazing! i swear by it. i know celebrities use it too. i have the black one and it's about $140-$180. i get so many compliments on my hair and ppl think i go to the salon. and plus this straightener makes your hair shiny without any products! it gets my hair so straight that the curls fall out! you'll fall in love with it. my aunt has the chi turbo but her hair doesnt get as straight as mine...she's eritrean. i dunno if you're black or not but i've noticed that it doesnt work as well on like that kind of hair.
