Is there something wrong with my diet or am I just eating not enough. I seem to be getting hungry a little too often. Usually the hunger comes as starving. I've even tried staying in a place where I can't eat, like the school library. I usually eat a bagel, a PB&J sandwich or cereal for breakfast. But 2-3 hours later during class I'm starving. When lunch rolls around another 2 hours later I'm starving again. I usually have a sandwich with some fruit or vegetables. But 2-3 hours after lunch the hunger comes back. I try to control the hunger with a piece of fruit or vegetable but sometimes I get desparate and buy a candy bar.
What's going on? I've tried water but that only seems to work for 30 minutes at most. I'm a fairly normal sized person, 5'4" 140lbs.

I'm currently trying to maintian my weight or at least lose some. I usually eat pretty healthy but it's when the hunger pains come on that I start eating something that I shouldn't like a candy bar.

It sounds as though you need to eat a little more protein - most of the stuff you're eating seems to be simple carbs, which will be digested very quickly. Include a little protein with breakfast and lunch - eggs, lean meat/chicken or fish - and then ditch the carbs with your evening meal so that you don't store them overnight - a little protein again with plenty of veggies or salad.
I'm not an Atkins worshipper or anyhting - nothing against carbs ( I love 'em!) but protein does take longer to break down and will make you feel fuller for longer.

First, Make sure you drink up to 2litres of water a day?? sometimes thirst disguise as hunger, maybe sometimes you think you're hungry but in fact you're just thirsty. So when the hunger stike drink a glass of water. You can achieve 2L or 8-10 glasses a day by starting to drink a glass of water when you woke up in the morning and another glass before going to bed..

Secondly, Make sure you eat breakfast, its ok to eat more in the morning. Make sure its healthy though.. You can eat a smoko or snack in between breakfast and lunch and between lunch and dinner. Try to switch to healthy snack either, fruits will be good.

High in fibre foods are good. As they can make you feel full longer throughout the day.

As you dont have time to do exercise, try to climb the stair instead of taking the elevator. Do a bit of a walk, its still counted as cardio exercise..

you should be eating about 300 calories in the morning (so i think the your good there) then a 100-150 calorie snack 2 hours later, then 400-500 calorie lunch, another 100-150 calorie snack 2 hours later, the 500 calorie supper and a later snack again or 100-150 calories. Eat ever 2-3 hours, thats why your so hungry and end up binging on junk food. Just bring snacks that'll fill you up for during class time, like fruits, veggies, or healthy grains.

I feel your pain. The only thing I've been able to do is try to change my attitude about it (try to feel positive, since the hunger means I'm burning calories). The only other thing that works is just getting really busy with something else so I don't think about it. It sounds as though you are eating enough. Oh . . . are you eating whole wheat bread/bagels? Look for something with at least 5 grams of fiber per serving. The fiber should keep you feeling fuller a little longer than just plain white bread.....

It could be that your eating the right foods so well that not enough "good fats" are in your diet. I am not speaking of fried foods or anything like that, but if you added some more fats to your diet to where it is from 30% of all calorie intake that would be good. Coconut Oil got a bum rap, but I would try a spoon full of that with each meal and see how that evens out your hunger.

If you really want to keep the weight off, eat 6 times a day. example
Morning juice, fruit and toast.
snack could be yogurt and fruit(small)
Lunch Small balance meal
snack carrots, celery etc...
dinner small balance meal
snack fruit or veggie

Try staying away from fried foods, breads, soda.
if you eat more times it speed your metabolism. if you can't go to the gym. park as far away as you can and walk. take the stairs not elevators. for lunch i eat normally takes me 15 minutes, than i put my head phones on and walk around just keep track of the time.

do some fairly hard/moderate exercise when you get hungry, it's better for getting your mind off food than just sitting in a library and thinking about your starvation. try to eat a little more at breakfast, an extra glass of milk, a half-bagel more, etc. it won't harm you, like eating more for dinner would.

Do was the Haiti people do. Sniff a little glue. The glue makes you unhungry and it is not harmfull to the body at all. Trust me on this one. ALso try eating peppermints as much as possible, it keeps the stomach from growling.
