I am a man I have hair that is damaged but gets very greasy and oily throughout the day. I don't like the greasy feel on my hair and I want to get it away.

So...
What type of shampoos/conditioners should I be useing
One for dry/damaged hair or one for oily hair??

Are there any products that you would recommend for me??

well youd wanna use something not too moisturizing since that might make your hair greasier, but moisturizing enough so that it helps repair the damage. i recommend Self-Absorbed shampoo and conditioner, by Bed Head. also how often do you wash your hair, and how long is it? i would recommend shampooing it once every two or three days, and then the days between shampoos condition it, but not at the roots because that may make it greasy. at first it may be greasy if youre used to shampooing every day, but within less than a week it will adapt to being shampood less often and therefore your ouil glands wont be over-stimulated as they may be now. remember to shampoo the roots, and use conditioner for the ends of your hair, not at the roots. also, if you put a bit of babypowder in your scal it helps absorb the greasiuness and oil and look non-oily. hope i could help!!!

You have oily scalp. So why do you want to use products meant for DRY/damaged hair? Use a shampoo that can control oil production, I suggest Phyto sebo-regulating shampoo. It's a great product, controls oil without drying out hair. And you should use a light conditioner on daily basis, and to take care of the damage do protein treatment at least once a week. Hope this helps.

I have very frizzy hair and making it look shiny has been a constant struggle. I talked to a good friend who is a stylist and asked him what shampoos would help my hair. I also told him that I did NOT want to spend an arm and a leg on salon products! He said that Garnier Fructis is the best stuff you can get outside of salons. I used sleek & shine for awhile and it worked well! Now I use "Shine Burst" and I LOVE IT! I think my hair looks and smells better than when I was using expensive Redken products! So, if you want maximum shine, use a good shampoo, like Garnier Fructis Shine Burst and follow with the same conditioner. If you blow-dry use a serum of some kind. (Can also be found near Garnier products!)

Try the products by Dove, shampoo and styling line...

They moisturize but are not greasy at all...

If your hair is a little longer, just try putting conditioner on the ends only...

Try using the one for dry damaged and using the conditoner only on the ends...These products should counteract any oiliness you have as well

Hope this helps!

Paul Mitchell's super strength shampoo/cond. for the moisture, and I would use PM tea tree shampoo once a week just to clarify the hair and keep your products from building up and looking greasy : )

Garnier make a shampoo for oily roots and dry ends. Like a combination shampoo.

Check that one out.

For oily hair, don't condition your roots, just do the ends.
