If there is a cure for cancer today (and I'm pretty sure there is somewhere)...?

you got the answer. there is a cure but think of all the medical places and doctors and drug co. that would go broke. The college my daughter went to proved there was a cure to the whole class. we are losing people we love because of greed for money.

I think the problem with cancer is not that cures can't be found - they are being found for cancers all the time but for several other reasons:
1. There are literally hundreds of types of cancers and within each type, several subtypes. It's no a single disease but a cellular disease and different treatments are required for different types of cancers.
2. Life style - smoking, drinking, environmental agents all contribute to cancer. Sun bathers are prone to skin cancers, smokers, lung, bladder, esophageal cancers. Folks do things that aid in cancer growth.
3. When the cancer is detected. If you are not treated early for many cancers, you are in serious shape. The cancer can spread and then too many systems are involved. When a bone cancer spreads to the lungs, there is little hope.

So I don't think drug companies are hiding cancer cures, in fact I think they are working hard at them. Hey, the longer you live, the more other disease can get you - a long living person is a great investment for a drug company.

Slow down there with your faulty reasoning.

There are many, many different kinds of cancer - it is extremely unlikely that a "single" cure for the many forms is even possible.

Now consider how much money the drug companies earn when they market a "cure" for a diminishing sex life or a receding hair line - and then consider how much they would stand to earn with a genuine, 100% effective cure for any type of cancer (hell, the quack cures alone are a multi-million dollar fraudulent industry!)

It would no more put them "out of business" than producing a vehicle that runs on water would put Ford out of business. Just the opposite, it would make both these companies - and their stock holders - all multi-millionaires!

Your reasoning is contrary to the many vaccines that have been developed over the years which have eradicated numerous afflictions and diseases.
