I have been a U.S. permanent resident for at least 20 years, when I travel to Mexico I use a "mexico Id card", does anyone know where I can get information if I need a U.S. passport or Mexican passport? Thank you.

You can't get a US passport. You are not a citizen. If you need a passport get one from the nation of which you are a citizen....Mexico.

You are a US permanent resident but not a US citizen. Therefore, you cannot carry a US passport as only US citizens are issued US passports. You are still a citizen of Mexico even though you've been living in the USA all these years. As such, you need to have a passport issued by the Mexican government.

Any reason why you won't become a US citizen?
