I have never heard of such a riduculous rule in my life.. NO BANDANA'S
At our gym, the trainers have them on... ALL THE TIME.

Most likely due to gang activity or something of that nature. If this policy protects the other gym's patrons from getting involved/witnessing a fight or other event due to these clothing items... good.
I highly doubt they created a rule just out of spite of the clothing article, this is probably a well thought out safty decision on the part of the gym.

Could be they don't want the gym to look like a ghetto. They want to maintain some semblance of civility.

I live right by there! It must because of the gang problem they have in the city.
