i cut my own bangs... and they came out horrible... go to a salon, from my own personal experince... but if your going to try it yourslef, i'll give you these tips that I should have followed... when holding you hair to cut it dont pull it down kind of just grab it and cut... what i did is that i grabbed the piece i wanted to cut and i pulled the hair down to straighten it out and i cut it wayyyyy to short because of that... start off by doing l;ong bangs, if they look good start goinng up slowly... and if you want the bangs to fall too the left, cut it to the right... it'll give it texture without having to use a razor... my hairstylist told me that.

i have two months growing my bangs out and they almost look normal!

If you're going from all-one-length hair, go into the salon to get it done. Most salons have a separate fee for cutting fringe/bangs that's cheaper than a haircut (maybe $10 U.S.). If you're going to try it yourself, buy a proper pair of hair cutting scissors and start LONG to allow yourself a wide berth for mistakes. Hold fringe out in front of you, turn the scissor tips up, and cut INTO the fringe to get a razor/fractured look. This trendy process is great, as it allows you to be less precise.

I'd leave it to the professionals. all you do is ask for a side fringe next time you get a trim

Unless you want it to turn out looking like you got into a fight with a pair of scissors (and lost), please just go to a salon and have it done professionally.
