"Mormon" in question and answers? I was just doing a search on mormons in Yahoo answers and they've changed all the mormon questions to "mmons" by removing the O and R. Is it that the mormons are offended by this name? If so then why do they name their own choir The Mormon tabernacle choir and then why do they have a website called mormon.org?

There is nothing mysterious or scandalous going on.
Did you try another search engine? I did and had no problem.

I do not know while they are changed. By the way it should not be Mormons that is not our church name it is The Church of Jesus Christ of laterday Saints. The first presidency of the church suggest not to call it the mormon church but to call it by the proper name. Yes we still call it the Mormon Tabernacle Choir because that is the name after they started the choir in salt lake city and they sang in the Tabernacle. There are other sits besides mormon.org One of the sits and it happens to be the main by the church and for its members is http://www.lds.org. I dare you and others to take a look at this site. Maybe you can also find more to your answer there. Have a good day!

Mk, so I'm a mormon............
Lol, we're not really 'offended' by the name, but we'd much rather be known as Latter Day Saints. We use the term mormon because that's what everybody knows us as!!! If we named it The Latter Day Saints Tabernacle Choir, no one would get it but the members of the church. And the website's called mormon.org to make it easier for non-members to find.

Whoa, that's really weird! I did a search, and there were only a very few questions even show up. I KNOW more questions have been asked about Mormons than that! And you're right - it kept saying "Mmons"

I can't imagine any reason for this. This is just weird.

This is because Yahoo is updating their search features. Give it some time and all the Mormon searches will be back as normal, written just as it should be M-O-R-M-O-N.

That is weird. Maybe someone at Yahoo.com hates mormons. I don't get offended by that. It's one way people identify us.

Yahoo answers seems to be taking out any "or" in any thing. For example, "shortly" came up as "shtly". I'm sure it will be back to normal soon.

Also, when I searched on "bored" (just to test), I had answers about beds.

I didn't know that! I do know on this site, a lot of them seem to call themselves LDS (Latter Day Saints).
