I'd do it as soon as possible. I'm also getting married in July, and I registered last July (only because I was given an engagement party and everyone said "Where's your registry?"). I think the rule of thumb is to register 8-10 months before your wedding date. Some brides need a lot of time, months even, to select everything. I had a definite style in mind, so I was able to select everything in one afternoon. At least get yourself going by choosing a store or two and put a few things on it. You can always add/take away items later. You'd be surprised at how many people just want to look at things you have chosen to get an idea for your shower gifts. I know in my family, as soon as someone registers, there is a mad scramble to get the "best" gift!

in a month or so. but start taking inventory now of what you already have. When you get in there you dont want to be constantly asking each other "don't we have that already?" I dont see how you can possibly register in one weekend though. It took me nearly a whole month! But yeah you do want to wait until they have out the new stuff--you hate to put stuff on a registry that then they don't have in the store anymore.

The only important thing is that you register a few weeks prior to your shower. I got married in June so my showers were in April and May. I didnt have the list finished but had a substantial amount on it by early March so once they got the invite to the shower--they had registry info. Everyone was pleased. But I had a friend who got married in late March and a lot of people used her registry for her Christmas gifts as well.

Just (as its rude to put registry info in your invite) have whoever is throwing your shower--have them put registry info in that.

You should register as soon as you decide where you want to register. This will give your guests ample time to choose gifts for your wedding and for the shower. I would suggest registering this week. And register for a wide variety, making sure to give your guests plenty of options. Don't be afraid of registering for too much-you don't want to run out of options before all your guests buy a gift. This will make them feel bad for not buying you anything or not moving quickly enough.

As soon as possible. People like to purchase gifts ahead of time so I would get that out of the way. And the closer it gets to your wedding, you are going to have other things to worry about and registering can be one less item on your list!

If by registering you mean a gift registry, then do it right now. If you mean registering for the Draft, that's another story. Best of Luck.

Do it now, i registered for mine about 6 months before my wedding, it gave my fiance and I time to get everything on our registry list.We were also able to add things to it if we forgot to add something. Alot of people who are buying gifts like to shop early.

a good rule of thumb is a week before you send out invitations, that way you wont be putting stuff on your registry that will be out of season/ stock. If out of towners want to send you something, i would suggest to them a gift card, that way they save on shipping and you are sure to get something you want.

Before your shower invitations go out. And surely before wedding invites go out.
