Recently I have noticed that she doesn't slow down to eat. Once she is done she will beg for more and she ate her usual quantity. I only feed her canned food and she gets half of it. Please help!!

Try giving her some good dry food,it will give her something to chew on.Are you feeding her enough?Has she been checked at the vet for worms? Is she skinny? If all is well with her, then change to dry and see what she does.As they grow they will need more food.It all is trial and error---good luck.

Well 1st of all is she a big or small dog, what kind and how old? I give all my dogs and puppies Purina dry food and leave food down for them 24 hrs. a day and don't have a problem at all with them overeating. Are you feeding her a namebrand of food? Maybe you could start leaving some dry food down for her that way when she eats her canned food if she is still hungry she'll get the message.

There is plenty of dogs out there that chow down their food in a split second. Sometimes its competitive thing, if you have two dogs that you feed at the same time. Its just the temperment of the dog, and whether he had a lot of excersize that day which made him hungry. And make sure your feeding schedules are timely.

First, canned food is not giving your dog the nutrition she needs. Try reading the label - you're paying for a lot of water. It's also not good for your dog's teeth - she should be switched to a good quality dry food.

Also, look at a dog's teeth. Dog's teeth are not made for chewing and the way she eats is perfectly normal. No one can tell you if half a can is enough for your dog can they? No one knows the size of your dog!!

Some dogs are just greedy and they will tell you they are hungry until their stomachs burst.
Look up the website of the pet food you feed and check how much it says to fed for her weight.
If she is not gaining or losing weight then you are feeding the correct amount.
Try feeding in portions or several meals over the day.
you can bulk up0 her meal with foods such as grated apple and carrot, cooked pumpkin, pasta, rice. These will make her feel like she has eaten heaps but they will not put weight on her.

My cat has the same problem! We've fixed it, though! Take a rock and put it in your dog's food. Make sure it is big enough that she won't choke, though! She'll have to work around it, slowing her down. Also, I've heard of special bowls made for your kind of dog. By eating slower, she shouldn't be as hungry.
Good luck!

I feed my dog "freestyle" which means I put a large bowl of dry food down for her to eat as much as she wants during the day, but I use a weight control formula so she doesn't get too overweight. Then I feed canned food once a day or every other day more as a treat. You might want to try that. If you have a large dog, if they eat too quickly they can get what is called bloat, which is very dangerous and it refers to the stomach actually twisting and cutting off the blood supply, and if it isn't caught immediately, the dog can die from it. Good luck.

I have had dogs all my life and have never had a problem with one of them gobbling their food. keep dry dog food down at all times. they only eat when they are hungry. as far as can food oh yea they would gobble it up in no time. i keep dry down, a full bowl at all times then as a treat i will mix can food in with it about 2 times a week. it really works . maybe she is not getting enough to eat? try it, it may work for you.

Are you feeding this dog enough, what size is it? Half a can of dog food per day, per feeding? Doesn't sound like much.

this can no longer be a universal thanks to slow your canines ingesting, even though it somewhat works for my canines. I feed Duke in his spacious kennel and do not provide him a dish. I in basic terms spread it for the time of the bottom of his area. It would not value funds and it would not value you an excellent purchase of time. an option to this can be using a cookie sheet, or maybe the floor, if this does no longer problem you. often times I mix it up by technique of feeding him his meal for the period of "preparation" time, feeding him one by technique of one, yet who needs to attempt this each mealtime? It drives him nuts and in turn me besides! There are nutrients dishes, called "existence dishes" that slow your canines's ingesting, by technique of creating the nutrients a lot less obtainable. There are besides toys like kongs to stuff with nutrients which slow your canines down notably. those might want to artwork too. probable your canines had yet another canines to compete with and he’s conditioned himself to eat it straight away so as that “the different canines” doesn’t get it first? I don’t imagine in my opinion that there is any thanks to “prepare” your canines to decelerate. It’s in basic terms the way they are, they prefer their dinner. My canines has continuously been an in common words canines, and he’s continuously had this undesirable habit. in my opinion i stumble on it simplest to easily adapt to this habit somewhat than change it. ingesting too quick is what Vets believe reason bloat, you're a in charge proprietor to comprehend the disadvantages of your canines ingesting too straight away. good success! let us know the way it is going.
