can you do anything to make them go away?

If they have been there for pretty much as long as you've had your teeth, it sounds like hypocalcification to me. There are many reasons for this occurring, but your tooth didn't develop correctly in the white spots. Sometimes they are very superficial and can simply be polished off. If they don't polish off, then you have just completed the first step towards getting some bonding material put over them to mask them out. That's easy to do and relatively cheap. If they are just little spots, like a millimeter or so, it would be in the $100 ballpark.

Its what with like to call declassification and it happens when there are weak enamel spot from getting older or possible cavity breaking through the enamel

Too much flouride in the water, unfortunately there isn't much you can do, alot of city add it to water, drink distilled bottled water only it is the purest water you can get.
