how do i ask someone to winter formal?

what are some really cute and unique ways of asking a guy to go to winter formal?
also if i dont want to go or cant how do i tell him no without just telling him no?

i did this back in high school and its really easy!! but you have to get some help from the principle or disipline counselor. talk to them before school and get them to write on a detention slip "will you go to sadies (or in your case winter formal) with me?" i was dating the guy so i didnt need to put my name but make sure you do. and get the principle to get him out of class, try and get a class were some of his friends are, and when he goes into the classroom everyone will think his in trouble, especially your guy, but when the principle sits down and gives him some reason and he has detention. your date will be shocked to find that instead of detention he has a date with you!! which should be better

Make him an invitation. Not some scribbles on a piece of paper, but something creative. Or make him a list of all the reasons why you want to go to the formal with him.

If you don't want to go or can't, tell him why, but make a follow up date so he doesn't feel like you're ditching him.

awnser to your first question is you have to ask him face to face no notes no email tell him the trueth look him right in the eyes and say hey "bruce" as you know the winter fromal is coming up and i was wondering if you would like to go with me i think your pretty cool and i think we would have fun
