I am 5'8 and 148. I am 18 in HS & looking to lose the rest of the fat on my body, which obviously isn't too much. I am also looking to lift weights too, because I am really not very strong (average to just a little below avg strength prob). I have just a little fat around my chest, lower stomach & inner thigh, but it is minimal.

I plan on running 5 days a week, about a mile each, and going on a diet of almost no junk food, fat, and as few carbs as possible. I also plan on curling, benching, and squatting 5 days a week.

If I do this, how long will it take to lose any fat I have? How long before I see results from lifting (noticeable results- I'm more looking to tone, not bulk up)?

it took time to gain weight, it will take three times as long to lose.

You need carbs for energy to burn muscle, and since your going to run five days a week your going to get burnt out man... You need carbs. If you want to lose fat just burn more than you consume a day, the average guy burns around 1900-2000. Not being strong has nothing to do with lifting weights so your ok there, just eat protien and some fats. Don't bench curl and squat five days a week, your body needs rest, give it atleast a day or two between each exercise. You won't be able to keep up that regiment for a month. You will overtrain if you bench press EVERY day and your muscle will actually decrease. You will probably see results in two months and they will keep looking good after that, if you want to look tone just lose weight first than start working out to get more defined muscles. Since the average person burns 2000 calories a day ( without even moving around ) and you want to lose weight just eat about 300-500 calories less a day. 4000 calories is a pound of fat so the calories you don't eat will end up as lost weight.

Well, number one is to make sure that you can do all you said you plan on doing. 5 days a week of excercise is not easy unless you are used to it. Becarefull you don't hurt yourself by overtraining. I had those same stats a while ago. long while. With thoses stats it means that you are a skinny SOB. With cardio you should be able to loose that fat in less than a week. You will start seeing changes in a week and a half being consevative.

My question to you is why are you so eager to loose more fat. You are skinny as it is assuming your stats are right. If you want to tone up then do some weight lifting and some running for cardio. Even if all you do is stop eating the junk you will still loose the fat that you claim to have. I think that in 4 month of doing what you plan to do you will be on your way to looking like a regular holocaust survivor.

Optionally join your school wrestling team or a martial arts club. Then you will sure get skinny pronto.

the results come quicker for some then for others. the more running you do, the more fat you'll lose. the more lifting you do, the more muscle you gain BUT this muscle will help you lose fat easier as well. make sure to take a day off every other day or every third day to allow your body to heal from the stress of exercising. the results will not be instant, but stay with it

You'll see that you lose water weight really quickly but you will gain some of it back since muscle weights more than fat. Besides, results vary from person to person. So you might see results in a month.. or maybe longer.. depends on the person.

It's not healthy to eliminate ALL your body fat. See the following article for some good tables on healthy body fat percentages, broken down by sex and agehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_fat_percentage.
Here's another one:

You might want to discuss your no-fat goal with a counselor. Men can become anorexic, too, and it's apparently becoming more common. See
http://www.anred.com/males.html
You don't necessarily have an eating disorder, but you may be focusing on becoming lean to an unhealthy extent, and it couldn't hurt to figure out why.

It actually will depend on the TYPE of query. Some which can be tediously worrying or trite, OR hateful rants OR while each phrase is misspelled (lyke omg so mi bff and me an my BF have been lyke all goin out an idk lyke omg .....) you realize, the ones type LOL. I pass the ones. But i do not brain studying by way of a particularly lengthy Q whether it is respectable or intriguing. Most of the Q's i reply anymore don't seem to be lengthy nonetheless. But brief, humorous, and to the factor. xD ?

you could go to a beginners weights class at your school if it is available. if not then a gym would be the next best thing. and it's good to leave out some carbs (ex. soda, candy) but not the ones from fruits & veggies & starches (just to name a few..).
remember there are two kinds of carbs..the good carbs and the bad carbs.
