If it's from a university website, "R" means Thursday. It's not a very common abbreviation for Thursday, but some colleges use that abbreviation.

Ex. MTWRFS. (Since there are usually no classes on Sundays.)

It could be an abbreviation for Thursday, to distinguish it from Tuesday. My university uses H for Thursday. I'm guessing R means Thursday, not Saturday, because there are more classes on Thursdays than Saturdays.

Two words: persecution complex. Claiming that "xianity" is an attack on Christianity is a lot easier for some than acknowledging it's an ancient tradition. The latter would actually require research.

No. I don't know where you get "R" from. Depending on how you do it, you can use Thurs and Sat or just Thu and Sat, but no R anywhere. "R" is not and never has been an abbreviation for Thursday.

Or you would go:
M, T, W, Th, F, Sat, Sun

or Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun

More or less.

But Thursday can be:
Th, Thu, Thur, Thurs, but never R

I've never seen R as an abreviation for any day of the week and I'm English.
