Personally i would recommend wood recurves. But if you are serious I would find your local bow shop and tell them what you are thinking and have them size you up for proper draw length, etc.. If you want to give it a try do it right and get fitted properly and make sure you have the best equipment you can afford. Too many people buy second hand ill fitting equipment and never get good enough to enjoy shooting. A good bow shop will also have a range so you can shoot in a controlled environment and get shooting tips from experienced shooters.

Congrats on wanting to learn to shoot bows its a fun sport you'll enjoy it!!
There are two things you need to do in this situation;
1) go to a pro shop to get measured and set up
2) shoot some bows and see what you like.
Also what do you plan to do? Target shoot or hunt? If your hunting I'd reccomend the recurve is you'll be able to walk with ease in the bush. As for material wood has worked well for years so why mess with a good thing. But in the end it comes down to preference.
Hope that helps and happy shooting.

To learn, you should go to an archery pro shop or a range and take a lesson. They have rental equipment and you can try different bows and weights. Start with a low weight bow and build up as you get conditioned. Shoot on a regular basis. When you decide on a particular type of bow, try as many as possible. Purchase from a reputable shop where you can be fitted for a bow.

The first-rate one i have placed has woven plastic at the outside and would be very heavy. It's going to have a hay middle and possibly a few foam on both facet of that. I used a natural foam one and my arrows went instantly by way of it. The one with hay in it was once 27 dollars at the vicinity wearing models store and My 80 pound bow does not send them instantly by way of it. It's going to be heavy and incorporated in a nylon or plastic weave. My pal has had on for decades and it's however going powerful. Go to a carrying models retailer for this one. Wally worlds objectives suck.

I would go fiberglass. As far as sizing.Go to a archery dealer,
get sized,then see what your willing to pay.What kind of archery.
Then you can see whats available.I personally have a Hoyt Protech.To save some money try Cabelas. Look it up on the net.
