My son tells me that his daddy has the mother of his other child at his place when he stays the night. Now his daddy and I have been trying to work things out, but everytime my son says this it starts a fight between me and his father. His father says no she was there part of the time because she brought over the other kid so that he could see his brother. I just don't know what to believe anymore. Our daughter says no she is only there when the other kid is there. My son is 6 and my daughter is 4.

I hope and I don't think that your son is lying. I think the most likely explanation is that he registered the woman's presence, but was not paying attention to the adults when she left. And 6 year old boys can be very headlong. Even though she is younger, your daughter may well be right, as girls seem to notice social interactions.

Perhaps you can get more info by asking your kids about breakfast, but it is a slippery slope to have children "reporting".

I suppose you could sort of spy on those nights when your son is at Dad's, but that is really getting creepy.

I am sorry, but I am not sure quite what you should do.
You certainly must have your trust restored before you can proceed with reconciling.

Good luck.

I would say he is NOT lying.. My sister had no idea her husband (at that time) was cheating on her until the 5yr old came in the house and said " mommy, why was so & so's mommy and my daddy in the shower together when jimmy and me came in to get a drink?" The boy was not lying----------they are now divorced. Kids that young usually do not lie about something like that as they are at the curious age and normally will ask some questions of what they saw.

Could it be that he is going to bed before the "other woman" goes home, or leaves? My b/f's 6-year-old daughter was telling people that I was spending the night but she was going to bed at her regular time and I stayed for a while so he and I could have some alone time. I have always gone home when she's there but her take was that I was spending the night.
