You can hang curtains from a cafe curtain rod affixed at the top of the doorway. I would hang double panels, not just a single one. This way, you'll have an opening smack in the center of the door. If you use a single panel, you'll have to pull open the curtain from a side all the time and the curtain will slide across the rod... Which means you'll always have to pull it back again... It'll become an irritant, trust me.

There is another solution, if your room is big enough. You could put a folding screen in front of the door but 2 feet in front. This way, you could get into the bathroom from either side of the screen, without having to move it. It would also make a really nice decorating statement and can be adapted to fit almost any decor (or bought in almost any style (asian, indian, ranch, etc.). Because it folds accordion-like, it'll be free-standing. You could also hang it from the ceiling.

Another solution could be a nice bamboo blind. You can get them relatively inexpensively at your local large surface hardware and or decorating store. The only drawback would be having to lift it everytime you want to go into the bathroom....

You can also go to your local demolition recuperating business... They have LOTS of doors and you can get some wild ones and have lots of fun with that.... A French door (with small square window panes) would look fantastic! If you're worried about privacy, you could use the etching spray they sell in hobby stores and use some stencils to apply it that would match your decor.... Or you can paint on them with pepeo vitra glass paint.... Or a mirrored French door....

The possibilities are endless....!

Hope this helped!

A single panel curtain could look great! Just buy a tension rod and hang the curtain- no hardware needed. If you want an extra touch you could also purchase a tie back that would pull the curtain to one side when its not closed.

If you find a curtain you like then fine...beads could work too. Install a curtain rod on the ceiling so that you can open/close, just like at a window.
