Suspiro or suspirar which means to gasp.

There's really no 'real' traslation for this word, suspiro is sigh, not gasp, if you want to say 'I gasped' (surprised) you say 'quede boquiabierto' if you want to say ' I gasped for air' you say 'Hize esfuerzo para respirar'

It's ONE word. Look it up either "the modern way" [har har] online or in one of those passe things called a "book" [again, har har], specifically a dictionary...
