Not quite. The U.S. has been training Iraqi soldiers and the police. Right now around 20% of the Iraqi soldiers and the police are not supplied, but supposably they will be supplied by the time the 20,000 Americans come. 160,000 American troops+129,000 Iraqi soldiers+135,000 Iraqi police= 424,000 troops for clear and hold against a force of 10,000-25,000. If those 20,000 were each to take 30 students, they could have an extra 600,000 police officers by September.

There is nothing new about it,Ann, it's the same ole garbage from the beginning. I'm not sure who's making all the money off it or if it's some physco trip Bush and his buddies is on but it's getting severaly out of hand. I'm republican but I'm not stupid, the man needs redirection in his reasoning. Believe me this is NOT going to be good for America and will make Vietnam look like tea and crummpets. All the hype about support the toops has gotten old along with the idea this thing in Iraq is something he has the solution to. He is an IDIOT, a mama's boy raised on a silver platter and has NO clue what to do or who to listen to.

Yes he is dumb we all know this...the iraqis were have supposed to have been stable on their own by now. The only other difference is that all the soldiers who were SUPPOSED to come home in the spring now have to stay longer with no return date. Just horrible for the families and most of all the childrens parents who are in the service. My heart aches for all the families and our troops in Iraq. Them not even knowing when they come back and knowing they have all been extended can not be good for morale...good one you dumb F*** BUSH! I wish he would get caught getting a bj and be impeached...lmao!!! Damn I mean Clinton caught all that s*** for nothing compared to what Bush is doing. UGHH!!!

This is his last chance to stabilize the country. They (not just Bush, but a lot of other people) figure that if they cannot stabilize this one city (Baghdad) with these many troops, then we should just pull out and tell the Iraqi people that they're on their own.

Ya - it fairly is humorous to verify all those "help our troops" issues on the returned of peoples' autos - yet our troops have been denied weapons and armor and bypass away and rotation - and whilst they get homestead they are denied scientific help and so one and so on. human beings are generally complete idiots - they only % to look like they help troops - generally they don't care. The conflict would not touch them - they only % their tax rebate verify.

The goal is, to bring Baghdad and Iraq to stability. But it flies in the face of the promised transition to lower troop levels. Even the generals hate the idea

Its more of a rehash of original plans- send a s-itload of troops for no reason, and maintain a police state.

Let's play a couple games of football. In the first game, you get 10 of your friends and I'll get 10 of mine. The losing team has to pay the winning team $100. In the second game, you and your 10 friends play me and 30 of my friends. The losing team has to pay the winning team $100,000.

Get in the game and get an education beyond your local community college nitwit. The last thing we need in this country is another "Blame America First" liberal.

The troops can now enter buildings and areas that were formerly off limits to them, where the terrorist were hiding because troops weren't allowed to pursue them.
