What exactly do they change when installing Sky+ ? Is it just the sky box, or do they have to change the dish as well? Also, can the existing aerial cables (from dish to box) be used or are these also changed?

I didn't pay much attention, but I think the inputs are the same, they just attached an extra cable and a new doohicky to the dish as we went for Multiroom for our bedroom. Took them a little over half an hour.

It's great having Sky in the bedroom, especially as I have just had two days off work, and Sky+ is REALLY good and very handy.

The dish stays, they just have to feed a additional cable from the dish into the sky + box. it has to be activated which take a bit of time, but the engineer will do this for you. had mine fitted in November, it brilliant, well worth the outlay. And no i don't work for Sky !!

hi there
i upgraded to sky plus just b4 Xmas. they put a new box in and if u keep the original sky box u can have it put in another room for an additional £10 per month and u don't have to watch the same programmes. as for the sky + it is fantastic and i wouldn't be without it now. u can pause it anything Ur watching, record 2 programmes at same time and u have hours and hours of recording. if u have a DVD recorder u can transfer any programme or film to a disc. once u have it u won't be without it .

I got a new dish but the other may have needed replacing. don't know about cables. I wasn't in the house at the time - husband was.

Sky+ is great. even my husband can record programmes now.

my only problem is finding time to watch every thing

great at Christmas

we got multi room at the same time - it was a gimmick to save money. but we are planning on cancelling the multi room.

They install a dual receiver on the dish with two leads into the box, quick and painless.
The old cables have to go.
