This kid in my 6th period asked me out through his friend. His friend's name is Vinny. She said that he said he has liked me for a long time and really wants to go out with me. I don't get asked out often, and I don't know what to say. I told them I would have to think about it. I don't know what to do, because I've never even talked to this guy before and I barely even know his name.

By go out, it just means being together, not actually going somewhere.

I wouldn't go out with him alone if you don't know him, but I see no problem with going out with him and a few others.

First of all he doesn't like you, he just has a big crush on you. You can't like someone without knowing them. I think it would be better If he asked you out himself, or you should just start talking to him just as friends and see where it goes. I guess If you don't feel comfortable with him then you can say no. Just because no one asks you out a lot, that does not mean you have to go out with him. You should try to became friends first and take it from there.

Well dont go out with anyone just to have someone to go out with. Thats not right. If he said hes liked you for along time but you havnt even talked to him, I would say that means he admires the way you look and the way you carry yourslef. But he dosnt really know you. If he seems like a person you might like to get to know more that would be my answer. Tell him you would like to get to know him more before you say yes or no. Give him your number and ask him to call you sometime. Or even say lets hang out sometime. That way you both can even find out if you really like whats in the inside.

What does it mean to be "asked out?" Where are you going?

If you are looking to be someone's friend, then be their friend.

If you are looking to be a romantic friend, one that will involve touch, then be carefull. Many people make the mistake of being in a touching relationship before they understand what they have to offer each other.

What is it that you really want in a romantic friend? Be sure that you write down your must haves and your should haves. Focus on what you must have, and do not make exceptions for anyone.

I used to be that kid. Just talk to him, and give him the impression that you want to be his friend. You would rock his world! And maybe he just wants to get to know you. Dating is well overated in adolescent years. Kids like him just want a female friend, and he's probably one of the sweetest guys you'll ever meet. Just let him know that going out, or whatever, is completely out of the question right now. Your are a girl, and a true flower for that. Don't let anyone wilt your pedals!

Have him meet you somewhere like a coffee shop etc... If you really not sure about him get a group of people together and all of you do something together. This will help you get to know him w/o being so uncomfortable

It's like a blind date, so you don't know what you're gonna get until you date him. But what about the friend, does she look like a nice person?

But if it was me I wouldn't even give him my e-mail adress, I like guys that actually have the gut to ask me on a date in person or at least over the phone, not thru his friend.

Well, I think you should agree to the date. See how it goes and maybe you will really like it. Just give it a try and then if things work out and he and yourself really do like eachother he may just ask you to be his girlfriend. I guess that's how the whole proccess of getting a boyfriend goes... you don't have to know the person... and at least you know he goes to your school, he's real, he's your age, so give it a try if you think he seems nice and I'm sure things will work out. So give it a try and have fun with yourself. :)

Well you could try and hang out together and then get to know him more. Just accept the date, and talk to him. If you start to not like him break up.

You should probably say that if you get to know him better you will think about it. If you decide you really like him you should go for it. This is from a guy so I know.
