I live in a home owned by my mother. Another sister lives next door. Years ago I decided that the boys will be able to see their mom once their 18. Right now they're 9 and 7. My mother agreed at the time but changed her mind. (Sister has lost 4 kids I have 2). 3yrs ago she threatened to take me out of the will if I did'nt let her have supervised visits. I said do what you do. Recently, mom had sister over her house (sister lives in independent living for alcohol/drug abuse and emotional issues-she was taken from her own biological mother because of abuse and the fact that she started a fire that killed her grandmother) to celebrate her birthday. My mom called me to let me know and I took over a gift - minus the boys. Now, she says that my sister will be moving next door (living w/another sister and her boyfriend) to get her GED. I don't want her next door. When she used to visit, the boys exhibited problems everytime she left. I live in Detroit, MI., legal advice? Help

If you can't keep her from moving in, you move out. The farther the better. Your mother is more interested in getting along with the bio-mother than she is in the welfare of the two boys.
You are their mother, it is your responsibility to make the right decisions to protect them.

If it became no longer court docket ordered that she isn't to make certain them till they are 18, you likely can't provide up her transferring in. yet you're in a position to get a restraining order, altho you've gotten to coach she is a probability to you/boys - then the onus might want to be on her to stay away. Your mom would not tire of allowing human beings so that they do no longer ought to take accountability, does she! good success, i'll save on with this question to make certain what ideas human beings have.

Get a restraining order ASAP, This will prevent her from being so many feet of the kids and she wont be able to move in next door. You are doing the right thing. If she is a threat to the kids well being she shouldnt be allowed to see them. Once she straightens up her act she can. Stand you ground. Dont listen to your mom. The kids will understand when they are older

I know you do not want to hear this but I would move very far away. I do not think you can get a restraining order. She hasn't threatened you. You can check with a lawyer. You sound like a GREAT mom and you have put your kids first. I seriously would move if you can swing it to keep the kids away from her. Good luck!!!
