I would say talk to your doctor- they know your body and history better than anyone!

I am curious to why you have been TRYING TO GO ON a diet for a year? Is this just a typo or are you just not committed to doing the diet?

My best advice would be to eat a healthy balanced diet and exercise at least 3 times a week!

Good luck!

First off, I want to state that this is my opinion. Second off, I am an RN, which kind of gives me an upper hand. Being a female at 150lbs, and 5'0, I would not recommend a diet. That is a very healthy weight for your standards, also, it depends on your eating habbits. Take your index finger and thumb, and pinch your right iliac reagion (the right side of your stomach), if there is more than 2 inches inbetween your finger and thumb, then your body weight is too high. I HIGHLY doubt that is the case. I would recommend running, walking, or minimal lifting. Not only are these stree relievers (sending a "good feeling" throughout your body), but they're some of the best things a girl your age should be doing. I hope I was help.

Star,
The word diet means you are making a temporary change in your meals to lose weight. This is not a good thing. The problems is that it makes weight loss temporary and you eventually gain the weight, if not more, back. A lifestyle change is what you need. This includes a change in the way you eat, but a permanent change! Some things you should never consume again. This would be things like soda, mayo and avocados(very fattening). This means you should be eating at different times in the day and find many ways to prepare chicken. This means you need to help your metabolism by exercising. These and other changes are more effective in helping you to stay in shape and assist the figure in trimming down.
Stay off the diets and instead make permanent life changes for your better health.
Good Luck to You!

Sure, so long as it is a healthy one. South Beach did not work for me either.. the only thing that has worked for me was to go on a 1400 calorie diet. I keep a food diary to make sure I don't exceed 1400 calories and I try to get most of my calories from fruits and vegis because they keep you full longer. My advice is to see a nutritionist. Some clinics you can to have them for free or your doctor can recommend one for you. They will tell you how many calories you need and they will show you what portion sizes look and adjust the food pyramid to your personal size. You also need to do aerobics 45-60 minutes a day most days of the week.

Yes diet if Dr says you are healthy. Forego the Jello it just water. Switch it for celery or apple so you get some fiber. Read your labels. Eat nothing with added sugar, High fructose sugar or hydrogenated anything and keep track of the fat and sodium comsumption. Keep them below RDA

Dieting is fine for you...your weight is too high for your height...(no offense) I'm sure you know this, and this is why you are dieting. Just try something else...if South Beach didn't do it for you...try Weight Watchers or Slimfast or Jenny Craig....there's thousands of diet plans out there...if one doesn't work for you...try a different one!! Do whatever works for you!

Sure, dieting is fine for you, but it is not needed.
